A LITTLE HISTORY OF ATVS.
As for the history of ATVs, we must say that more than thirty years ago, motorcycle dealers, tired of experiencing how they stopped selling their vehicles when bad weather arrived, asked motorcycle manufacturers to create a motorcycle capable of mobilizing in adverse weather conditions. For this reason, they began to think about three-, four- and six-wheeled vehicles. The idea was to combine in the same concept the ease of riding a motorcycle and the improved stability of vehicles with more than two wheels. Thus, in 1970, motorized tricycles, popularly known as Trikes, were born. But the large number of accidents forced the manufacturers to stop making Trikes in 1988.
This was the moment when the ATV/Quads came out, mainly in agricultural areas. These new vehicles maintained the concept of motorcycles (light and maneuverable) while serving in any terrain and the harshest weather conditions. Many say that ATVs were made as a work vehicle.
Possibly one of the first images of an ATV in the country of Colombia is that of Pablo Escobar riding one of these vehicles around his famous NAPOLES hacienda.
